Abstract
An effort has been made to show that the structure of the wall of the pancreatic duct
and the wall of the capsule is the same, and, therefore, the capsule is the duct wall
and its presence or absence depends upon whether the adenoma took origin in a duct
with or without a wall. And finally, the gulf which exists between the theory of origin
and a mature adenoma has been bridged by showing the proliferation of the duct epithelium,
and intraductal islands of cells representing stages of growth.
