      Abstract

Infusions of whole blood were given to animals acutely starved and chronically undernourished to 73 to 79 per cent of initial body weight. Equivalent amounts of blood were given to normally fed controls whose transfusion weights corresponded to the transfusion weights of the animals in the experimental groups. No differences were demonstrated between the groups with respect to cell and volume changes subsequent to infusion.
