      Abstract

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a highly malignant tumor in adults. It often arises in the thigh and upper arm, but may appear elsewhere.
The clinical appearance of a rhabdomyosarcoma is variable. In the majority of cases, however, the tumor grows rapidly, infiltrates locally, and metastasizes by way of the blood stream, and less commonly, through the regional lymph nodes.
At present, radical surgery is the procedure of choice in managing a rhabdomyosarcoma of soft tissue origin in adult patients.
