Patent ductus arteriosus in early infancy

      Abstract

      • 1.
        1. There were 2 deaths in a group of 9 infants 3 months old or younger in whom a patent ductus arteriosus was closed.
      • 2.
        2. The importance of early operation on those infants with congestive failure is emphasized.
      • 3.
        3. Several infants in this group developed cardiovascular collapse at operation which responded to the prompt ligation of the open ductus.
