Abstract
A new method was developed to provide reproducible experimental peritoneal adhesions
in dogs.
Using 3 different methods to produce experimental adhesions, 3 species of animals
(rats, rabbits, dogs), 7 different fibrinolytic enzyme preparations, 2 routes of administration
(intraperitoneal and intravenous), and several dose schedules, we were unable to demonstrate
significant prophylactic or therapeutic activity.
