Abstract
The surgical technique, instrumentation, and short-term performance of the primate
cephalic exchange transplant model has been reviewed. For the first time, the subhuman
primate cephalon has been vascularly transferred with the use of loop cannulas to
the isolated body of the monkey with normalization of cerebral function.
