      Abstract

The results of the postoperative angiographic assessment of 56 reversed autogenous vein bypass grafts are reported. The causes of late vein graft failure are multiple. Significant intrinsic graft lesions have been identified in 14 grafts with occlusion or symptomatic stenosis in 10. Progression of proximal and distal disease has been demonstrated in 19 patients with occlusion in 5. Distal occlusion or stenosis as a result of clamp injury was demonstrated in 5 patients. Anastomotic aneurysms were present in 10 patients with graft occlusion in three.
