Abstract
Pneumothorax is a rare complication of pneumoperitoneum. We report a case of spontaneous
bilateral pneumothorax during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The history, pathogenesis,
and therapeutic options of this unusual occurrence are discussed. Because laparoscopic
operations have become increasingly popular in recent years, we call attention to
this rare but potentially life-threatening complication.
