Abstract
The blood flow and oxygen consumption of the kidneys of unanesthetized dogs have been
determined before and after the production of ureteral obstruction. The findings indicate
that early hydronephrosis is associated with a decrease in the renal blood flow, little
if any alteration in the arteriovenous oxygen difference, and a decrease in the oxygen
consumption.
